Hello BA2

Sketch of a gargoyle
Yesterday we received our BA2 briefing and I am very excited to get started! Although the project is 3D concept art (what even is ZBrush?!?!?!?) the design part is basically an extension of what we've learned in BA1. In a nutshell our task is to design and create a game ready gargoyle sculpture in the style of our choosing. At first when gargoyles were mentioned I cringed a little as I was thrown back into a very unpleasant memory that has scared me throughout my artistic journey... It was year 8 in an art lesson, we were asked to draw a gargoyle and to make it look 3D, I got a B and had such a sulk that I didn't want to peruse art at GCSE or ever for the rest of my life. Anyway now I am over that I think gargoyles are more acceptable as an adult and I am ready to stir things up and take the meaning of gargoyles into the magical world of Miffy.

The mission:

- Develop a game ready gargoyle sculpture in the style of your choosing
- Asset must be suitable for the use of a current generation platform eg. Xbox One, PS4, PC. The gargoyle will be non articulated and not animated.
- You must demonstrate efficient topology within the final asset, which must also be textured.

Submission:

- A fully realised digital sculpture and turntable render [.ZPR & .MOV]
- A document evidencing iteration [PDF]
- Examples of Anatomical Life Drawing [PDF]
- Reflective Journal and 500 word evaluation (Digitized Notebook/Sketchbook/Blog) [PDF, Incl. URL]
